Love Makes a Family

I had the CRAZY honor of being present for an adoption hearing and capturing family images afterwards. I cannot even begin to express the emotions I felt, watching this obviously loving, kind family be given PERMANENT custody of two children they had been fostering. Having been a nurse in Pediatrics for 5 years, I watched my share of heartache where children were involved. Abuse, neglect, abandonment, even watching a child be physically removed from their parents custody in the office. You begin to doubt the good in the world when you see what some innocent children are forced to endure. So, seeing Kylie & John, with a courtroom full of their children, family and friends, swear vows to care for and love these children as if they were born to them, well, I can tell you it made for more than a few tears. All happy tears. To watch their family together, you would never be able to guess which children are biological and which children are "chosen." I can honestly say, that I was in the presence of true, unwavering love. That is not something that comes along very often. I cannot wait to capture more precious moments for this family in the future <3

Thank you for choosing me!

I also wanted to include a little back story that Kylie so sweetly provided me with, read this and enjoy!

"John and I were high school sweethearts. I've loved him since I was 12 years old. I look at him and my heart still beats faster. We love each other and our kids more than words could ever say. I know we have something special that some people search their whole lives for. We never planned to adopt. We just wanted to help kids and help their parents get them back. We were at a place three years ago that we felt like we could do it. We had three kids of our own at that time. Nothing made us happier than being parents. Since then, we have fostered five kids. We have relationships with caseworkers and biological parents that have made me into truly a better person. Because, no one!!! I mean no one just gives their child up for no reason. You can't judge! Fostering has been the best decision we have ever made. Out of the five, three of them are ours forever. So now we have Morgan 20, Alayna 13, Romero 6, Angelo 4, Sarah Jane 3, and Rosalina 21 months! Plus we still are foster parents! We have adopted the three in less than one year. It's crazy when I think about it, because God had his own plan for us and I am so thankful he did.
